Motti Essakow

Co-Founder

An acknowledged early pioneer and disrupter in the global travel and tourism industry with more than two decades of Thought and Mindful Leadership experience across a wide spectrum of the Responsible/Sustainable/Eco/Geo/Organic Agri/ Wellness/Spa Travel & Tourism sectors.

A cultivator of influencing and instigating positive change through demystifying the concept of Responsible Business Management, Natural Capitalism and Mindful and Slow Luxury – then determining it’s ideal place in organizations – by highlighting the symbiosis between People Capital, Natural Capital, Wellbeing Capital & Economic Capital in ways where each is equally valued, measured and benefit.

Never satisfied with the status quo, a love for problem solving and constantly thinking about the drive for Purposeful and Positive Impact Investing versus the flawed focus on single bottom line profit (long before the topic became de rigueur), Motti has a proven hands-on “go-getter” track record of launching thought provoking ideas – all based on a values based approach – and then bringing them to life with some of the world’s pioneering and leading hotel and spa brands,  tourism destinations and UN organizations. 

Living in Johannesburg, Tel Aviv, North America and London during different stages of his life and having conducted projects in almost 20 other countries gave him a deep appreciation of different cultural norms and values, openness and adaptability to new experiences and ideas.

Motti is co founder of both nestwell and Rythms by Design – a pioneering and still only-of-it-kind in the UK and Europe – Responsible Sourcing and Procurement Management enterprise targeting the luxury hospitality, spa, wellness and super yacht sectors in all the key categories of BD&E (Building Design and Equipment), ID&E (Interior Design and Equipment, FF&E (Fixtures, Furnishings and Equipment) and OS&E (Operating Supplies and Equipment).

Juergen E. Seidel

Engineering, Technical & Clean Technology Specialist and Advisor

One of Asia’s leading energy and environmental engineers (with proven track record in technical service and Pre-opening), with an exceptional reputation that stems over 20 years operating in the tourism and hospitality industry having built long-lasting, collaborative relationships with their clients. 

Having provided services to ACCOR, ITT Sheraton/luxury collection, WESTIN, Starwood International, Banyan Tree & Angsana, Six Senses Resorts & Spas, Soneva Resorts, Siemens Power Distribution, Dusit International Hotels & Resorts, Al Khozama Hospitality / KSA, lebua hotels & resorts and Absolute Hotel Services. 

Working in collaboration with International Certifications, such as; IUCN, Green Hotels, EarthCheck, International Tourism Partnership (ITP, IBLFoundation) and ISO. As a dynamic practice, he maintains the flexibility to deliver boutique projects to customised engineering services at a national scale. Juergen believes in maintaining a hands-on approach throughout the lifecycle of the projects, maximising value and capitalising on opportunities for innovation and cost savings.

Laurence Marchese

Art, Emotion & Experiential 

Artist at heart Laurence Marchese is passionate about the universe of creation in the broad sense. An atmosphere, a sound, an image, a movement, a touch, Laurence studies each emotional track that raises consciousness to take us from the created world to the creative world.

Beyond art, she emphasizes the questions of territory from the intimate to the collective and in this sense leads research on the new habitat both in terms of our lifestyles, our relationship to living things, design but also any other resource allowing us to be both rooted and connected to our internal wifi heart.

Endowed with a strong sensitivity, Laurence redraws the contours of the universe of Sustainable Luxury integrated with emotional & physical well-being. Her rich and varied professional background extracts her from any notion of categorization. Laurence is above all a free spirit passionate about humanity.

Her life and activities revolve around this notion of experimentation with being, the encounter of the horizontal with the vertical. From organizing events around cultural diversity and positive cinema for the Better World Forum in Cannes, to making unique pieces for Petit Hermès, from supporting internationally recognized writers such as James Redfield to writing, taking pictures or guiding individuals on their own path, she is one of those people whose spirit and creativity are always in turmoil.

ADVISORY BOARD

Anke Winchenbach
Anke is a Teaching Fellow, Programme Leader and PhD researcher School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of Surrey, UK, with a focus on sustainable management and design across tourism, transport, hospitality, and events.

Previously, Anke was a Senior Consultant at NEF Consulting (the consultancy arm of the New Economic Foundation), supporting organisations on their journey towards a new sustainable economy by developing an understanding of value for money that includes social and environmental outcomes alongside the economic costs and benefits.

A travel manager by training, she has worked in several senior roles in travel & tourism, including TUI, Thomas Cook and Lufthansa City Centre.

Shane Holland
Holland is the Executive Chairman of Slow Food in the UK and has held CEO positions within both the business and the third sectors and has chaired a number of large NFPS.

He has a private practice which connects artisan producers with retailers and distributors, working with some of the worlds finest food retailers. Within the third sector his work has specialised in regards to our most vulnerable citizens, their issues of food poverty & food skills, education, offending, and access to service.

His other current roles include UK Ambassador for Venner, the pan Europe charity tackling food poverty; trustee of Borough Market; and trustee of the charity United St Saviours, which gives grants to community groups and other charities of in excess of £1 million a year alongside running best in class almshouses. He is past chair of both Eat Club , the organisation that teaches food skills to young people, and Plan Zheroes, the platform that connects surplus fresh food with charities and people in need.

A food writer – specialist subject, cheese – he also frequently sits on expert panels; appears both in print and on TV & radio; lectures at universities; has given a TED Talk as one of their “Architects of Tomorrow”; and carries out dozens of speaking engagements a year both within the UK and internationally.
